Momo, the little swallow, woke up early and watched his parents prepare for their journey. They would leave the next day.
His mother was out of breath on the treadmill. His father had prepared the breakfast table, and even put the rosehip jam they had kept for special occasions on the table. From where he lay, Momo asked: “Daddy, why do we have to leave our house? Do we have to go? Besides, winter hasn’t come yet, maybe it won’t come this year.”
His father laughed at these words: “I understand you Momo, it is difficult to leave, but we have to. Winter comes again every year, you know that. The weather got cold early, it became harder for us to find food. You will also like the new place we’re going to, don’t worry. Have your breakfast now, and gather strength for the long journey tomorrow.”

“My father says that the building will be demolished, an apartment will be built in its place. Then this little house, the bird palace, will be gone, as well.”

“What if they don’t listen to you?”
“They’ll listen. Don’t worry, the birds will always keep coming. How happy they are in their new home, they are already singing.
