KİTAPTAN
How about a nursery rhyme before we start our tale?
I made a toy from a pinecone I found while walking on the road. Would you like to try too? Here is a fairy tale rhyme with a toy recipe for you! It’s also very entertaining…
Head of walnut shell
Nose of lemon seeds
Arms of broken branches
Hat of old cloth
Body of enchanted pinecone
Decorated with my pen
Feet of peanut shell
Lugs of red thread
She comes from old times
Her story from you

Once upon a time, three bears lived in an enchanted forest. The eldest of the siblings was named Hosbear, the middle one was Tickbear, and the youngest was Tartbear. They told each other tales every night and combed their furs. Then they would dream of the Honey Feast, which is celebrated every year and looked forward to, and sleep soundly. This holiday was full of fun. All the bears danced, went from door to door, collecting honey, and kissing the hands of the elders. After the holiday celebrations, their favorite thing was the game-making contest among themselves. This was very important to them.

Hosbear said, “Tartbear! My little brother. Did you hear about the leaflet?” he asked.
“I have, brother. In fact, look, I brought a pinecone. Maybe I can make up a game,” said Tartbear.
When Hosbear heard this, he was so happy that he immediately hugged his brother and said:
“I wholeheartedly believe that one day you will find a unique game. Even if you don’t come first, it’s great that you want to participate in the competition. I’m proud of you, bro.”

Hostick (Hostik) is a traditional Turkish children’s game. It is the name of the ball carved from a pinecone and the game is played with wooden sticks. Before starting this game, which requires at least three people, a catcher is selected. Players draw their sticks without showing them to their friends. Whoever draws the shorter stick becomes the catcher. Then a pit is dug in an earthen area. The ball, called the hostick, is placed near the pit. The other players must block him while the catcher tries to throw the hostick into the pit. Whoever the catcher touches first when the hostick (ball) enters the hole becomes the new catcher and the game continues.
