The first two were the only cruisers in the Navies of both the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic. Their long lives were full of events connected with Turkey’s recent past. The same applies, on a smaller scal to Torpedo Cruisers Peyk & Berk.

This book is mostly a visual account of the two cruisers and their small helpers. Their lives and deeds are presented in chronologcial summaries. 116 photographc, many not previously published, document the lives of 4 vessels from birth to retirement and scrap yard. Lovers of the sea and ships are bound to enjoy this book.
