This book is perfect for foreigners who are interested in Ottoman Empire. Also the language is really easy to follow. It is studied in many Universities both in Europe and US.

quite a good book both for the turkish readers who may know about the ottoman empire in detail and for foreigners who do not know so much about the empire. <br />the book starts with a brief introduction which covers the first ages of the Ottomans, then go with the details of the further ages. <br />this is not a book of heroes or book of aspersions to the ottoman dynasty, it both covers the good characteristics and the bad ones of the ottomans.<br />in brief a good organized, instructive book written by one of the most skilled experts of ottoman history.

Hocanın yaşı bir asra yaklaşmış olmasına rağmen hâla kendisi büyük bir verimlilikle Türk Tarihçiliğine eserler kazandırmaya devam ediyor. Tabiki bu eserler, bir kaç yılda yapılmış çalışlmlara değil. Yarım asırlık çalışmalar. Çok büyük önem arz ediyor.
